The Rotary Club of South Hall celebrated a banner year with an award dinner held at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands! Outgoing President Renee Carden finished her year by presenting the clubs Gold status to the members as well as announcing the clubs achievement of becoming 100% Paul Harris Fellows.
This year’s club achieved points to be recognized at the highest level from District 6910 at the District Conference held in April. The club also recognized some outstanding members.
Renee identified and recognized several members during the event for their efforts in making the club a true inspiration in the community. But it was club member Amanda Groover who was recognized as this year’s Rotarian of the Year.
Renee pointed out that as the club’s Public Relations Chair, Amanda had elevated the web and social media of the presence of the club with active posts and engagement. In addition, Amanda helped the club receive the Zonal PR citation this year for their efforts to share the message of Rotary with the community.
“I’m beyond honored to be recognized by my fellow Rotarians for just fulfilling my role to the best of my abilities”, stated Groover.
The meeting ended with Renee ceremoniously turning over the Rotary gavel to incoming president Rena Pendley as we look forward to moving from the Rotary theme of “being the inspiration” to “Rotary connects the world.”
